Bernard SWEENEY Newspaper:  New Hampton Tribune Date:  March 6, 1906 Bernard Sweeney died February 21, 1906, in York, Nebraska, aged 74 years. Deceased was born in County Kavan, [Cavan] Ireland. In his young manhood he came to America and located in Pennsylvania and in 1864 to Buchanan County, Iowa, and from there in 1871 to Chickasaw County, Iowa, where he lived until about eighteen years ago, when he removed to York, Nebraska, where he died. He is survived by his daughter Mary of York and by his son Mark of this city. His remains were brought here for burial, the funeral taking place from St. Mary's church Saturday, February 24. Mr. Sweeney was at various times owner of real estate in this county, at one time owning the Henry Westemeyer farm northeast of town and at another the corner where Albert Klatt's business block now stands.
