Romanzo D. SPENCER Newspaper:  The Nashua Reporter Date:  February 13, 1890 R. D. SPENCER of Bradford died at his home on thursday February 6, 1890. R. D. SPENCER was born April 27, 1845 at Marengo, Ill. He was married to Mary J. PENN, March 17, 1868. He moved to Bremer Co. Iowa in 1860 then to Bradford in 1869 where he lived until his death. He enlisted in Co H 4th Iowa Cavalry December 1, 1863 was discharged Aug 1865. His death was caused by lung trouble, contracted in the army while serving his country, but bore his pains and suffering with patience. He was a loving husband and father. A good neighbor, loved and respected by all who knew him, always ready to do someone a kind act. Every one who knew him will mourn his death as a loss of a true friend.
