FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JOHN F. LEWIS HELD SATURDAY

Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from Perry's Chapel for John F. LEWIS, 94, who died at his home Wednesday, May 29, 1957.

The Rev. Harry Stickle, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery with Alfred KELSON, R.B. MESERSMITH, V.E. MESSERSMITH, Harry CARNEY, Alvah MILLER and Frank LEACH as casket bearers.

Mr. LEWIS is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude WILHARM of Sumner; and one son, Kemman of New Hampton; one granddaughter Mrs. Clayton SNIDER, Omaha, Neb. and one great grandson, Waren Lee SNIDER.

Mr. LEWIS was one of New Hampton's oldest citizens, having lived here for 91 years. He was engaged in the cement contracting business, was sexton of Graceland Cemetery for 36 years and custodian of the Public Library since it was established here.

His wife is the former Nellie SNYDER and they had been married nearly 65 years.
