1850 Federal Census – Seventh Census of the United States

The enumeration of the State of Iowa comprises 8 rolls of film for 1850.
The first Federal Census of Iowa after attaining statehood.
The enumeration commenced on 01 June 1850.

The area now known as Chickasaw County was enumerated under Fayette County.

The schedules for 1790 – 1840 show the names of enumerated heads of household only; other members of the household were simply tallied by age group, sex, and race.
