Local CCGS members have logged hundreds of hours in this on-going project. To date, six books have
now been published as a result of this project, yet there is still more to do in the future. The hard work
of these dedicated members has been critical to preserving burial information, particularly for burials prior to
1880, for which there are virtually no civil records, in the county or at the state level. For those
researchers where distance is a big factor, having the opportunity to acquire this information at a reasonable
cost is very beneficial. For a more complete status on each cemetery of the county, please see
the Cemeteries Section, far right column.
There are two new cemetery burial records in work which we hope to have ready to publish during 2007.
