3. DOE, John J. died about Jan/Feb 1886. Are there any other cemetery/burial records that CCGS could search to find the burial of my John DOE, besides the cemeteries covered in the published CCGS cemetery books? He does not appear in any of the published books. I am 98% sure he was buried somewhere in Chickasaw County. I don't have the exact date of death, but I know he was alive on the 1885 Chickasaw County Census and then his widow and children removed from Chickasaw County to Minnesota in June 1886 to live near other family members. I would like to get the exact date of death, if possible, and where he was buried. Please search any other resources available and provide results, if found.
4. DOE, John J. died about 10 Jan 1886. Search for obituary, send a copy of the obituary, if found.
7. DOE, John J. 1885 State Census. Please search for this family in this census. Family tradition has it that he lived near Fredericksburg but this is not documented, it could have been Lawler. He was a farmer. Extract schedule data for the whole family, if found.
12. Searching surnames: SMITH, JONES, MILLER. Please search the Research Name File to see if any other researchers have contacted you for research on the families I am working on and provide any information available. I would especially like contact information for others working on the same people I am searching. If there are any file copies of previous correspondence and you believe copies would be helpful to me, please make me copies and send.
14. Other: I am trying to document the death of my ancestor, John J. DOE. I have the CCGS death index (1880 - 1899) and he does not appear in it. I found my John J. DOE in the Chickasaw County Census of 1885, in Bradford Township, but he does not appear in the 1895 Census. I am guessing that he died between these two censuses. Also, I am sure that I have found his widow and two minor children in the 1895 Census of Chickasaw County (still in Bradford Township), so the family was still there in 1895. FYI: In the 1895 Census, it states that the widow and children were Catholic, in case church death records might be an option. Are there any other resources that could be searched to find and document his death, as it seems there is no official death record at the court house?
Please find my check enclosed for one hour of research. I understand that you will advise me if additional fees are required to complete my request. I am also enclosing a SASE for your reply.
